What to Wear :: Portraits

People ask us what they should wear to their Portrait session.  It’s really worth considering, and ensuring everyone looks good together.  You also want to be comfortable, confident, and to feel yourself – then you can relax and have more fun.  Select some shades you like wearing, a style, and keep it complimentary.

I LOVE what Nancy and her family wore to her pregnancy portraits last week.  Gorgeous neutral tones, with some spare cardigans and wraps.

Winter is great for coats, boots and scarves (and umbrellas) … remove layers as needed … with thanks to the lovely Emma for the styling …

How cute are these guys – Tania is a genius, dressing three girls, a baby boy and a husband in differing blues without clashing or wearing matching outfits – sure, two jackets are similar, but all the girls had different boots, and everyone wore something that was ‘just them’.

I love these guys …. flowing pretty dresses and checkered shirts … looks great on this little growing family on the grassy hills.

Another amazing mum, Melinda: complimentary but not matching.  How did she find so many clothes with that watermelon colour on them?

Shades of grey on a black background, a great alternative to disappearing black or stark white …

Or why wear anything at all if you look this good?  (on top I mean)

Yeah it’s not for everyone.  But just one more …

I’m not a sporty person, but if you are: with matching framed and signed jersey and mascot … oh, and a baby.

Have fun guys!  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Naomi.
